Asmir Begovic

Liverpool snapped up Bolton’s Adam Bogdan on a free transfer last week but their whole goalkeeping department leaves a lot to be desired.

Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic could well be the perfect remedy; he’s demonstrated a remarkable consistency as the Potters’ No.1 over the last five seasons, in that time claiming the club’s Young Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Player of the Year award – so there’s no doubting how highly he’s rated at the Britannia.

The Bosnian international’s composed style and imposing 6 foot 6 frame should breed a new sense of calmness amongst the Reds’ ever-chaotic defence.

Stoke executive Tony Scholes has already admitted the 27 year-old is probably holding talks with potential suitors, having continually delayed on extending his contract past 2016.

Currently, however, the tabloids are backing him to become Thibaut Courtois’ understudy at Chelsea.
