Marco Reus extended his Borussia Dortmund contract earlier this season but a £40million bid would certainly test the Black-Yellows’ resolve amid a summer of enormous changes at Westfalen.

No doubt, the German international would be a fantastic signing for any club in Europe, boasting an incredible return of 37 goals and 27 assists in 82 league outings for Dortmund and playing a pivotal role in their surprise march to the 2013 Champions League final.

Louis van Gaal loves his multifunctional footballers and the 25 year-old is certainly one of them, equally comfortable anywhere across the attacking midfield berth or as an out-and-out striker, and capable of performing the duties of scorer or provider.

With the boat seemingly sailing on a move to La Liga last summer, a Premier League switch seems the next logical step in Reus’ career.
