Out – Wojciech Szczesny

|

Despite Arsene Wenger’s recent descript of the Poland international as a ‘world-class goalkeeper’, many view David Opsina’s recent usurping of Wojciech Szczesny to No.1 status as the final straw for the shower-smoking goalie.

At 25 years of age, Szczesny still has plenty of time to get his stuttering career back on the right track. But even upon reaching the peak of his powers – which could still be four or five years away – he’ll unlikely ever exceed the quality of goalkeeper available to the Gunners via the transfer market this summer.

At this point, many believe the north Londoners should simply cut their losses and sign a proven No.1. Tabloid speculation this morning claims Southampton could launch a summer bid for the 22-cap Pole if they’re forced to sell the in-form Fraser Forster.
