Goalkeeper – Petr Cech

|

Although Simon Mignolet’s form has drastically improved in recent months, Liverpool’s goalkeeping department still requires a significant upgrade, and no No.1 on the market this summer addresses their needs better than Chelsea’s Petr Cech.

With three (almost four) league titles, a Champions League title and 331 appearances under his belt, the Czech international is indisputably one of the greatest goalkeepers of the Premier League era and at 32 years of age is still firmly within his goalkeeping prime.

But he’s unfortunate enough to find himself stuck behind the prodigious Thibaut Courtois in the Stamford Bridge pecking order and is resultantly expected to leave the west London club this summer.

His £10million valuation is fantastic value-for-money and well within Liverpool’s financial reach – but Chelsea have already demonstrated a reluctance to sell to a Premier League rival, recently knocking back interest from Arsenal.
