Demarai Gray

Birmingham winger Demarai Gray has already earned comparisons with Liverpool’s potentially departing talisman, some even dubbing him ‘the Raheem Sterling of the Championship’.

He’s still raw and a return of four goals and one assist in 33 league outings this term might not seem so almighty. Yet the 18 year-old’s potential is evident in abundance and would unquestionably stand out even more in a side that weren’t so preoccupied with avoiding League One.

Like Sterling, Gray can play anywhere across the attacking midfield berth and is famed for his direct dribbling style, spawned from a low centre of gravity.

With his contract set to expire in summer 2016, there’s been plenty of debate over the England U19’s future recently, but Birmingham showed their resolve in January by turning down a £5million offer from Bournemouth.
