Having made the move to Old Trafford at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign as he made a £72 million switch from Italian Serie A side Atalanta and signed for Manchester United, it is not unfair to say that the 21 year old Denmark international striker, Rasmus Hojlund, has had his struggles adjusting to life at the club, and in the Premier League itself.

With five goals in six Champions League games, he has more than been demonstrating the talent and potential that he has to the fans, and in more recent times it has really clicked for him in the domestic league campaign like he won himself a betwinner promo code.

With a total of 17 starts and three substitute appearances, he has now notched up seven goals and with six of those goals coming in the last five games (with a goal coming in each one, before his brace against Luton Town at the last time of asking), the way he has turned a corner has been rather dramatic and very impressive.

Therefore, it probably stands to reason that it has now been confirmed that he will definitely miss the next two to three weeks and come out of contention having sustained a muscle injury in the last match.

It means he will almost definitely miss the upcoming tie against Fulham, the FA Cup fifth round clash with Nottingham Forest, the Manchester derby against Pep Guardiola’s City side, and Everton.

With Fulham on the horizon, manager Erik ten Hag said of his problem.

“It is a small injury, two or three weeks. It is a risk in high intensity training. It’s not a big injury but he has to wait now.”

After his poor start and the time he needed to properly adjust, his record of 13 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions is a very good return for us right now, especially as there should be so much more to come from him given his confidence will be flying, and he now fully understands how to make a very good impact in our more physical division.

Hopefully there will not be any additional complications during his recovery and return to fitness, and we do get him back to full strength quickly so he can hopefully keep this run of form going and really finish the current campaign on a high, so he set for next season in the best way possible.

Hojlund is simply the latest injury issue we have at the club, as Anthony Martial remains sidelined following his groin surgery, and Luke Shaw could be out for months after his recent leg injury. This adds to the losses of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia.

The interview was Ten Hag’s first since Sir Jim Ratcliffe had his 27.7% buy in to the club ratified and authorised, and the Dutch gaffer insisted it did not add any pressure to him as ultimately they both wanted the same thing moving forward – far better success once more given our rich history in the Premier League.

We will see if that comes to pass, but there is a growing optimism in the fan base again given Ratcliffe’s approach and engagement with the fans, so we will have to see.
