Manchester United could reportedly use Victor Lindelof in a potential swap deal to land Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The previous summer transfer window not only saw a handful of new players make moves to Old Trafford, but it also saw a significant number of players leave the club.

Now that the next summer transfer window is on the way, it has been claimed that the Red Devils could look to move one of their current players out to help them bring a new face in.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, United could use Lindelof in a possible swap deal that would see Dumfries, who Erik ten Hag is reportedly a big fan of, move to Old Trafford this summer.

Since joining United back in the 2017 summer transfer window, the defender, who has been linked with a move to Inter previously, has made 216 appearances for the club across all competitions, chipping in with three goals and six assists.

This season has seen the 28-year-old make 20 appearances for Ten Hag’s side across all competitions, prior to their Europa League match against Real Betis, but only start five of the nine Premier League games he’s featured in.

As for Dumfries, the 26-year-old has scored seven goals and delivered 13 assists in 77 appearances for the Italian club.

His current Serie A campaign has seen the Dutchman provide six assists for Inter across his 23 league appearances, showing how much of a creative figure he could be for United.

In terms of this reported swap deal, despite Lindelof being behind the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the pecking order, it’s seems that Ten Hag will have to decide whether he wants to get rid of a centre-back to bring in a right-wing-back when he already has the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot in his squad.
