BBC pundit and former Premier League player Alan Hutton has shared his thoughts on the possibility of Manchester United securing a transfer deal for Harry Kane.
The Old Trafford outfit have been linked with a move for the Tottenham Hotspur striker in recent months, who apparently has a price tag of over £100m.
In fact, following the north London club’s recent exit from the Champions League, the Englishman has been tipped to leave Spurs this summer.
This has now led to Hutton sharing his thoughts on the likelihood of United launching a move to sign the centre-forward.
Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton said this when asked if he thinks United will splash the sufficient cash needed to sign Kane this summer.
He said: “I think the fans would hope so. To move forward and really compete at the top end, they need that focal point that is going to score 25-plus goals a season.
“Harry Kane can definitely do that, we have seen him do it in the Tottenham side for a number of years now. The likes of [Victor] Osimhen and other players that are getting bandied about, they are going to be huge money as well.”
Having scored 201 goals in 308 Premier League appearances, no one can doubt the talent and pedigree Kane has as being one of English football’s top players.

However, having yet to win a trophy with Spurs and having flirted with the idea of leaving them in the past, joining a club like United – who have just got their hands on the Carabao Cup and are currently above Antonio Conte’s side in the Premier League – could be appealing to Kane.
Bearing in mind how current United striker, Wout Weghorst, has failed to score a goal in seven league appearances, getting rid of him in the summer when his loan deal expires and securing a deal for Kane, who has been described as “sensational” in the past by journalist Adam Crafton, would surely be a great way for Erik ten Hag to get his side closer to winning the Premier League.
