Former Premier League attacker and current talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Manchester United will become consistent title contenders if they sign Harry Kane this summer.

After seeing Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club earlier in the season, the Red Devils secure a deal in the previous January transfer window to sign Wout Weghorst on loan until the end of the season.

Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, the Old Trafford outfit have been linked with Kane, as well as Napoli star Victor Osimhen, as the club looks to bring in a new long-term striker.

In this quiz, we will take a look at who topped the club's scoring charts and when. First, who was United's top scorer this season?

Speaking to Football Insider, Agbonlahor said this when asked if United would be in the race to win the Premier League title next season if they sign a striker this summer.

He said: “I really do. If you look at this Man United squad, they’re so strong everywhere – except in that number nine role. They’re strong defensively, and so exciting in those wide spaces.

“[Wout] Weghorst isn’t good enough for Man United but that’s not his fault. He was a short-term option. But I really feel that Harry Kane can be the last piece of the jigsaw, he’s an incredible player. Bring him in, and they’re good to go with a title challenge next season.”

Who would you rather see Man United sign this summer?

Having scored 270 goals in 424 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur across all competitions, the Englishman certainly has the goalscoring talent and experience to be a top signing for Erik ten Hag.

Bearing in mind how, prior to United’s match against Southampton, Weghorst has failed to score a league goal in seven appearances, it’s safe to say that Kane would be an upgrade on the current Red Devils striker.

Also, with United recently getting their hands on the Carabao Cup and the fact that Kane has yet to win a trophy with his side, making a move to Old Trafford where he may have a better chance of getting his hands on some silverware could be a tempting prospect for the England international.
