In this quiz, we will take a look at who topped the club's scoring charts and when. First, who was United's top scorer this season?

According to a recent report from Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) United are in the mix alongside Inter Milan and Juventus to land a summer deal for Thuram, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season due to his contract at Monchengladbach expiring.

The report also adds that while lower tax rates could benefit the Italian clubs in trying to secure a deal for the Frenchman, United, who have been in contact with Thuram’s representatives, are able to offer a better financial deal.

During his time at the German club, the 25-year-old, who has been described as a “physical phenomenon” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, has scored 42 goals and provided 26 assists in 127 appearances across all competitions.

With 11 goals to his name across 23 Bundesliga appearances this season, the France international has racked up more shots at goal (71) and shots on target (36) than any other player in the league, leaving him with the highest rate of shots on target per 90 minutes (1.69) in the division.

Bearing in mind how there are five clubs in the Premier League with a higher rate of shots on target per 90 minutes than United (5.08) for this current campaign, securing a deal for Thuram could be just what Erik ten Hag needs to make his side deadlier in front of goal.

Also, with Wout Weghorst set to see his loan deal at Old Trafford expire at the end of the season, the Monchengladbach star could be an ideal long-term replacement for the Dutchman, who has yet to score a goal in the Premier League for United.

Moving forward, once the summer transfer window opens, we feel that United should present Thuram with a suitable offer that would tempt him to join Ten Hag’s side and show what he’s able to do in the top flight of English football.
