Liverpool are reportedly keeping an eye on Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Reds are set to see one of their current attacking players make a move away from the Merseyside club in the summer as Roberto Firmino recently revealed he’ll be bringing an end to his time at Anfield once the season ends.
With that in mind, it has now been revealed that Jurgen Klopp may have already identified his ideal replacement for the Brazilian.
According to a recent report from SportBild (via Sport Witness) Liverpool and Manchester United are watching Kolo Muani, who could be tempted to leave the German club if the right sporting opportunity were to come his way.
The report also adds that if a team were looking to sign the player this summer, it would take over €100m (£87m) to land a deal for him.
After scoring 23 goals and providing 16 assists in 87 appearances for previous club Nantes, the 24-year-old joined Frankfurt during the previous summer transfer window.
Since then, he’s found the net 16 times and supplied 14 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Bearing in mind how Firmino has shown how capable he is of scoring goals and providing them as well during his time with Liverpool, finding the net 108 times and providing 79 assists in 356 appearances, it’s easy to see why the Merseyside club see Kolo Muani as a suitable replacement for the Brazilian.
Do Liverpool need to sign a replacement for Firmino this summer?
Yes
No
Across his 23 Bundesliga appearances this season, the Frenchman has racked up 11 goals, 12 assists and more goal-creating actions (19) than any other player in the division, which backs up why commentator Rob Daly hailed the striker’s form as “superb” earlier in the season.
Moving forward, while it’d be safe to assume that Frankfurt would not want to let their star striker go after just one season with them, we feel that Liverpool should make an approach to the club in the summer to see if they’d be able to negotiate a deal for Kolo Muani.
