Chelsea are reportedly in the race alongside some of Europe’s biggest clubs to sign Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque this summer.

With 38 appearances for Athletico Paranaense to his name, the centre-forward has scored eight goals and provided three assists for his current side.

Despite still being a teenager, the youngster has some of Europe’s biggest clubs eyeing him up for a potential summer transfer move.

According to a recent report from Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte (via Sport Witness) Chelsea, as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, are interested in signing Roque this summer now that he is able to join a new club having turned 18.

The report also adds that Barcelona are currently the main candidates to sign the player, who, despite having a €100m (£88m) release clause, could be sold for around €60m (£53m) this summer.

His latest league campaign saw the attacker score five goals in 29 appearances, racking up 40 shots at goal and 17 shots on target in total at the club.

This left him with the highest rate of shots on target per 90 minutes (1.16) at the club, showing how much of a goal threat he is.

In addition to that, Roque also had more goal-creating actions (9) than any other player at the Brazilian side.

The youngster has also shown his attacking ability on the international stage by scoring six goals in 11 appearances for Brazil’s U20 side.

Described as an “unstoppable” player by talent scout Jacek Kulig on Twitter, it’s easy to see why Roque has the likes of Chelsea and other big clubs across Europe are looking at him ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Moving forward, if Graham Potter and Todd Boehly feel that signing Roque would be a suitable signing for Chelsea, they should do all they can to beat the other clubs reportedly looking at the player and hope that he can grow into a star player for the west London club.
