Chelsea have shown over their past two transfer windows how capable they are when it comes to spending significant amounts of money on new players.

While the Blues face a challenge to finish in a European place in the Premier League this season, it has been revealed that Todd Boehly has already identified another player to splash the cash on this summer.

According to a recent report from CalcioMercatoWeb (via Sport Witness) Chelsea are ready to make an offer to Napoli this summer for Osimhen, who the Italian club reportedly value at €150m (£132m).

The report also adds that the west London club could include Christian Pulisic in a potential deal to try and convince Napoli to sell their star striker.

This season has seen the 24-year-old, who has been described by commentator Matteo Bonetti as an “outrageous” player, declare himself as one of the hottest attacking talents in Europe by scoring 23 goals in 28 games for Napoli across all competitions.

In fact, having found the net 19 times in 22 Serie A appearances, prior to their match against Torino, the Nigerian has the highest rate of shots per 90 minutes (4.62) and shots on target per 90 minutes (1.77) in the league.

Should Victor Osimhen be Chelsea's number one transfer target this summer?

No

Bearing in mind how nine clubs in the Premier League have a higher rate of shots per 90 minutes this season than Chelsea (12.04), it’s safe to say that Graham Potter’s side could do with a player like Osimhen to make them a deadlier attacking side.

As well as that, only his Napoli teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (7.6/10) has a higher overall performance rating than Osimhen (7.52/10) in Serie A according to WhoScored

With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why the Italian side value their centre-forward so high and why Chelsea are apparently readying a bid to sign him in the summer.

Moving forward, regardless of how their season ends, we feel that Boehly and the club should do all they can to land a deal for the Napoli star this summer as he could be an integral part of Potter’s side.
