Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Mauricio Pochettino over potentially replacing Graham Potter in the dugout at Stamford Bridge.

Following a poor run of form and domestic results, the Blues boss has found himself under pressure, despite apparently having the backing of club owner Todd Boehly.

However, it has now been revealed that the club have made some behind-the-scenes moves in search of a potential replacement for the struggling 47-year-old.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, there is a growing appetite for change behind the scenes at Chelsea and that the club have already spoken to Pochettino about the manager’s position, which the Argentine is believed to be interested in should the job become available.

The report also adds that there is interest in Pochettino from other top clubs in England and abroad.

After taking charge of Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur, the 50-year-old spent 18 months at the helm of Paris Saint-Germain, leading players such as Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

During his time at the French club, Pochettino overlooked 84 games in total across all competitions, winning 56, drawing 13 and losing 15 of them, winning three trophies in the process.

With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why the Chelsea hierarchy have apparently made contact with the former Spurs head coach over potentially being the man to replace Potter should a change of manager become necessary at the west London club.

Should Pochettino find himself making a return to the Premier League, which is something that he would reportedly want to do, with Chelsea, he’ll have a pretty big task on his hands, not only to get the team delivering positive results but also in being able to get the best out of one of the biggest and most valuable squad of players in the top division.
