Arsenal are reportedly still interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The north London club were heavily linked with the Ecuadorian during the previous January transfer window, having two bids rejected for him.

It has recently been announced that the player, who posted a statement on social media in January suggesting he was looking to leave Brighton, has signed a new long-term contract with the south coast club, which is set to run until 2027, with the Seagulls having the option to extend it for an extra year.

Despite that, it has since been claimed that the player is still on the Gunners’ radar heading into the next summer transfer window.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, Arsenal, as well as other Premier League clubs Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, are still interested in signing Caicedo, who is believed to still want a move away from Brighton and play at a higher level.

This season has seen the 21-year-old feature in all but one of Brighton’s Premier League games, highlighting how important he is for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.

Should Arsenal try and sign Moises Caicedo again this summer?

Across his 22 league appearances, the midfielder, who is sponsored by Nike, has picked up the highest average of tackles per game (2.8) at Brighton as well as the highest average of interceptions per game (1.5) out of any player at the club that has started more than one game.

Hailed by Curtis Woodhouse as an “outstanding” player, Caicedo has earned himself an overall performance rating of 6.97/10 from WhoScored for his efforts in this campaign, leaving only three other outfield players at Brighton with higher ones.

Taking all of that into account, while the player is still apparently open to leaving his current club, it’d be safe to say that a move for him this summer would cost Arsenal, or any other clubs after him, more than the £70m that the Gunners offered in January.
