Arsenal are reportedly plotting a double summer transfer swoop for Moises Caicedo and Kaoru Mitoma.

The previous January transfer window saw the Gunners bring in two players from fellow Premier League clubs in the shape of Jorginho and Leandro Trossard.

Now though, it has been claimed that the north London club have identified another top-flight duo they want to sign.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, Arsenal are interested in signing Caicedo and Mitoma from Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.

The report also adds that despite Arsenal seeing a £70m bid rejected for Caicedo in January and the fact that he has since signed a new deal at Brighton, the midfielder is still a priority target for the Gunners and that they will submit another huge bid for him this summer.

As for Mitoma, the report claims that while the north London club are interested in the winger, who has previously been touted to have a £35m price tag, he would be a difficult signing for Arsenal to make following recent claims he’ll be signing a new contract at Brighton in the near future.

This season has seen the Brighton duo show how impressive they are and how important they are for the club.

Which of these players would you rather see Arsenal sign this summer?

For example, Caicedo has the highest average of tackles (2.9) and interceptions per game (1.6) in the Premier League at the south coast club.

Then with Mitoma, in addition to his six goals and three assists, the Japanese attacker has the highest average of dribbles per game (1.7) in Roberto De Zerbi’s squad, earning himself an overall performance rating of 7.11/10 from WhoScored, making him the second-highest rated player at the club.

With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why Arsenal are apparently keen on signing the Seagulls duo this summer.

Moving forward, while it could be difficult and expensive to land either one of these two players, we feel that the Gunners should still explore the possibility of doing so once the summer transfer window opens.
