Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard has been praised by journalist Kaya Kaynak for his performance in the Gunners’ recent 3-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League.
Goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard secured the three points for Mikel Arteta’s side as they regained their five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the league table.
Despite not getting himself on the scoresheet, one Arsenal figure found himself on the end of some significant praise from one journalist in particular.
In a recent Twitter post, Kaynak had this to say about Trossard’s efforts against Fulham.
He said: “Lots of good displays for #AFC, but Leandro Trossard is far and away the man of the match. Excellent game for the Belgian who gets the best out of all those around him. Martinelli, Odegaard and Gabriel all impressive too.”
Before being replaced by Gabriel Jesus in the 77th minute of the game at Craven Cottage, the Belgian occupied the centre-forward position and managed to assist all three of Arsenal’s goals.
With four key passes to his name in total, this was more than any other Arsenal player made on the day.
As well as that, the 28-year-old also had two attempts at goal and successfully completed the one dribble he attempted, further highlighting how much of an attacking nuisance he was for Fulham’s defenders and goalkeeper.
Did Leandro Trossard have his best game for Arsenal against Fulham?
Yes
No
This performance ultimately earned Trossard an impressive overall match rating of 8.8/10 from SofaScore, making him the highest-rated Arsenal player on the day.
The Evening Standard also picked up on the Belgian’s endeavours by claiming that he had his “best game in an Arsenal shirt so far”, and that he “terrorised Kenny Tete” whilst looking “sharp out wide and through the middle.”
Taking all of this into account, it’s clear that Trossard played a vital part in the Gunners’ latest win and was very much deserving of Kaynak’s praise.
