Arsenal are reportedly one of the clubs looking to secure a summer transfer deal for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

The north London club brought in two new players during the previous January transfer window from fellow Premier League clubs, with Jorginho coming in from Chelsea and Leandro Trossard arriving from Brighton.

Now though, it has been revealed that the Gunners have set their sights on securing the services of another top-flight star this summer, but face significant competition in doing so.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, Arsenal, as well as Manchester United and Manchester City have joined Liverpool in registering an interest in Mac Allister.

Brighton signed the Argentine back in the 2019 January transfer window from Argentinos Juniors in a deal worth £7m.

With 95 appearances to his name for the Seagulls across all competitions, the 24-year-old has scored 16 goals and delivered seven assists.

His efforts this season in the Premier League with Roberto De Zerbi’s side have seen the midfielder score six goals and earn himself a performance rating of 7.07/10 from WhoScored, listing him as the second-highest rated outfield player at the south coast club.

Would you take Alexis Mac Allister at Arsenal?

The midfielder’s latest outing with the Seagulls saw him score the first goal in Brighton’s 4-0 win over West Ham United and ultimately pick up the highest match rating of the game from SofaScore with a rating of 8.5/10.

Mac Allister also showed what he’s capable of on football’s biggest stage as he helped Argentina secure the World Cup in Qatar, earning himself an overall performance rating of 7.11/10 from WhoScored, making him the third-highest rated player in the squad.

In fact, his performances in the tournament were labelled by journalist Andy Naylor as “sensational”, further highlighting how impressive he was alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Julian Alvarez and Enzo Fernandez.

Taking all of this into account, it’s easy to see why the Brighton star has so many of the biggest clubs in the Premier League looking to sign him in the summer, which is what we feel Arsenal should definitely look to achieve once the transfer window opens.
