West Ham United are reportedly keeping an eye on Maurizio Sarri as a potential replacement for David Moyes.

With the Hammers losing 12 of their 22 Premier League games this season, pressure has been on the Scotsman, who has reportedly been close to getting sacked.

This has now led to reports claiming that the east London club have set their sights on a potential replacement for the current Hammers boss, with someone who has experience of managing in the top flight.

According to Italian publication Il Messaggero (via Sport Witness), West Ham are tracking Sarri, whose future at Lazio is under question at the moment, and could look to appoint him as a replacement for Moyes.

The initial claim – as relayed by LazioNews24 – mentions that AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are also looking at the former Chelsea manager.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, the 64-year-old took charge of 63 games in total across all competitions, winning 40 of them with 11 draws and 12 defeats.

In addition to that, the Italian picked up his first trophy as a manager while at Chelsea as he secured the Europa League title at the end of the 2018/19 season.

After then leaving Chelsea, Sarri returned to Italy where he secured the Serie A title with Juventus, winning 34 of his 52 games before joining Lazio in 2021.

Since then, the Italian, who has been hailed as ‘extraordinary‘, has picked up a rather mixed bag of results, winning 35 of the 78 games he has taken charge of, drawing 22 and losing 21.

Given the success he’s had in the past with Chelsea and his significant experience managing in Europe, it’s easy to see why West Ham are reportedly keeping an eye on Sarri and why they could see him as a potential replacement for Moyes if they do end up sacking him.

Moving forward, unless the current Hammers boss is able to have a strong end to the season and get the club as far away from the relegation zone as possible, we feel that having a change in management could well be a top priority for the London Stadium outfit in the near future.
