Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a potential summer transfer move for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao.

The 23-year-old, who has scored 36 goals and provided 31 assists in 147 appearances for the Italian club, is set to enter the final year of his contract in the summer.

Looking ahead to the next transfer window, the winger has found himself on the radar of one of England’s biggest clubs.

How well do you know these Liverpool squad numbers? Starting off with an easy one: Mo Salah

According to a recent report from Calciomercatoweb, Liverpool are interested in signing Leao, who Milan apparently value between €120m-€150m (£105m-£132m).

The report also adds that the Reds could look to include Luis Diaz in a potential deal that would see him trade places with Leao in addition to a cash offer.

This season has seen the Portuguese international score eight goals and deliver six assists in 23 Serie A appearances.

To further highlight his attacking talent, Leao has the highest average of dribbles per game (1.9) in the Italian division and the joint-fourth highest average of shots per game (2.9).

In addition to that, the winger has made more successful take-ons (42) than any other player in Serie A as well as having the joint-highest total of progressive carries (86).

Taking all of this into account, it’s clear that Leao, who Paolo Maldini has dubbed a “diamond” in the past, has the attacking talent to be an exciting signing for Liverpool.

Interestingly, the winger was even spotted wearing a Mohamed Salah shirt in the gym back in December.

Would you like to see Liverpool sign Rafael Leao this summer?

In regards to potentially seeing Diaz being included as part of the deal to bring the Milan star to Anfield, we feel that this may not be the best move for Liverpool to make given how they only signed him in the 2022 January transfer window, investing an initial fee of £37m to do so.

During his time at the Merseyside club, the Colombian has scored 10 goals and delivered eight assists in 38 appearances, showing just how much of a useful attacking figure he is.

Moving forward, we feel that Liverpool should definitely make a move to sign Leao this summer but not consider using Diaz in a potential deal.
