Former Premier League player and talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has shared his verdict on under-fire Chelsea manager and his position at the west London club.

With pressure already on the 47-year-old, things were made worse following the west London club’s recent 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, making it Potter’s 10th defeat as Chelsea’s manager in 26 games.

Following the defeat in north London, one pundit has shared their thoughts on the current state of affairs in the Chelsea dugout.

Speaking on talkSPORT, O’Hara had this to say about Potter when asked if he thinks Potter can survive this recent run of poor form.

He said: “No, I don’t think he can. I think his time’s up, I really do. I think they’re going to get knocked out by Borussia Dortmund, they got Leeds [United] coming up, I think they lose against them and they go out of the Champions League and he gets the sack.

“I just don’t think the players are having what he’s about. I just don’t think they like his tactics, he’s very pragmatic, it’s boring, they’re not very exciting to watch. I just think he’s going to struggle to overcome this.

“Todd Boehly – you don’t spend £600m and then get a manager who just doesn’t get results. They’re just so slow and boring with everything they do.

“I just think with Graham Potter, he’s asking the players to doing things and they’re just not having it, just not having it at all.”

Do you think the Chelsea players are against Graham Potter?

Yes

No

No

Having only won two of their 14 previous league games under the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager, it’s understandable why things seem quite negative at Chelsea.

In terms of O’Hara’s point about the players not being responsive or accepting of Potter’s instructions and tactics, the fact that Chelsea have the second-largest squad (33) in the Premier League could make it difficult for the Blues boss to keep every single figure happy when not all of them will be able to play regularly.

Moving forward, despite O’Hara’s insistence that the Chelsea manager will not make it to the end of the season in his current position, we feel that the club’s hierarchy should continue backing him and give him the summer period to make whatever changes to the squad he feels are necessary to put the team in a good shape for next season.
