Arsenal will reportedly look to offer Bukayo Saka and William Saliba new contracts to tie their futures down to the north London club.

The Gunners recently secured a new long-term contract for winger Gabriel Martinelli, who has been a key figure for Mikel Arteta’s side this season by starting all 19 of their Premier League games.

Now though, it has been revealed that the club will look to secure new contracts for two other important players in Arteta’s squad.

In a recent Twitter post after the initial news of Martinelli’s new contract came out on Thursday evening, Romano revealed that Arsenal “will now push” to get new contracts for Saka and Saliba.

Romano then shared a post on his official Twitter account relaying quotes from Arteta confirming this claim.

He said: “Arsenal are working on William Saliba and Bukayo Saka contract extension #AFC

“Arteta confirms: “We are trying to get it done, it’s part of the plan to extend the contracts of the biggest talents — it will be done as soon as we can”.”

Similarly to Martinelli, Saka and Saliba have also started all of Arsenal’s 19 league games this season, proving how important they are to Arteta and why he is keen to see them follow the Brazilian’s example and pledge their long-term futures to the club.

With Saka having more goal contributions (14) in the league this season than any other Arsenal player, this showcases his significance to the team.

Then with Saliba, not only does he have the highest passing accuracy (91.7%) out of players in the squad that have started more than two league games, but he also has the second-highest average of clearances per game (3.1), showing how effective he can be off the ball as well as on it.

Moving forward, if the league leaders are able to secure new deals for these two players as soon as possible, this will definitely be a massive boost for the club and give their supporters something to shout about.
