Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on Ansu Fati’s situation at Barcelona.

Having worked his way through Barcelona’s youth ranks after arriving from Sevilla back in 2012, the 20-year-old has made 89 senior appearances for the Spanish giants across all competitions, scoring 25 goals and providing nine assists in the process.

Making his senior debut at the age of 16, the Spaniard was given the illustrious number 10 shirt at Barcelona following Lionel Messi’s departure.

Despite being highly thought of at the club, the winger has only started nine of the 31 games he’s appeared in this season across all competitions, which has led to some questions being raised about his future at Camp Nou.

According to a recent report from Spain (via Sport Witness), Arsenal and their north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, have an interest in the winger.

The report also adds that the two clubs could look to make a move for Fati during the next summer transfer window if Barcelona are willing to sell him.

Despite his lack of regular starts this season, the youngster has still shown how much of a dangerous attacking player he is.

For example, with 778 minutes of La Liga action to his name, Fati has the second-highest rate of shots per 90 minutes (4.28) out of players currently at Barcelona.

He also has the third-highest rate of goal-creating actions per 90 minutes (0.81) and the third-highest total of carries into the penalty area (17).

Hailed as an “unstoppable” player in the past by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the £237k-per-week winger could be an exciting signing for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta given the clear attacking talent he has among his Barcelona teammates.

Moving forward, if Fati’s situation at Camp Nou doesn’t change in terms of becoming a consistent starter in Xavi’s side, Arsenal should definitely test the waters in the summer to see what it would take to potentially bring the young attacker to the Emirates.
