Celtic are reportedly interested in a move for Gornik Zabrze forward Szymon Wlodarczyk.

The Hoops appear to be on the search for a new attacking addition at Parkhead, with the future of Giorgos Giakoumakis in doubt.

Recent reports have even claimed that the Greek striker has agreed on terms to join Sampdoria, which, should a move go through, would leave Ange Postecoglou with Kyogo Furuhashi as the club’s only recognised centre-forward, as per Transfermarkt.

Postecoglou and head of recruitment Mark Lawwell appear to have identified another possible target in the final third in Wlodarczyk, who Fabrizio Romano says has impressed with his “skills and physical condition”.

The Daily Record relayed a transfer update on Thursday evening, claiming Celtic are one of three interested clubs in Wlodarczyk.

The report mooted a €5m (£4.4m) move for the striker, who has netted seven goals in 15 Ekstraklasa games for Gornik Zabrze during the current campaign.

TIF thoughts on Wlodarczyk…

Wlodarczyk is still just 20 years of age, and it looks as if he could be a shrewd signing by Parkhead chiefs, providing they win the race for his services.

Giakoumakis leaving seems to be a matter of when and not if, so the club could do with bringing in a new forward to help Furuhashi.

A Poland U21 international, Wlodarczyk has even been compared to Robert Lewandowski, so a transfer could benefit Celtic in both the short and long term, making this another link to keep an eye on.
