Wolves are closing in on a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Pablo Sarabia according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.
After scoring 43 goals and providing 38 assists in 151 appearances for Sevilla, the 30-year-old joined PSG back in the 2019 summer transfer window.
With 98 appearances under his belt for the French club, Sarabia has found the net 22 times and supplied 12 assists.
The Spaniard had a rather successful loan spell in Portugal with Sporting CP last season where he scored 21 goals in 45 appearances as well as delivering 10 assists in the process.
In the midst of another transfer window, the winger has once again found himself being linked with a move away from PSG, this time to the Premier League.
In a recent Twitter post, Crook revealed that a move to Molineux for Sarabia is “all but done” and that it “should be confirmed next week.”
Having only started six of the 19 games he’s appeared in this season for PSG, it’s clear that he’s not at the top of the pecking order at the club, which is understandable given how he has Lionel Messi ahead of him in the right-wing position.
This and his previous goalscoring efforts show why Wolves have been working on a deal to sign the £91k-per-week figure.
The Spaniard has previously been hailed by former PSG and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who described the winger as being “impressive” and as someone who “plays with a lot of intensity and does not stop [working] defensively.”
Would you like to see Wolves sign Sarabia?
Taking into account how only two clubs in the Premier League have a lower rate of expected goals than Wolves (17.2) this season, bringing in a player like Sarabia who has a clear pedigree of scoring goals and who would presumably be eager to play regularly could be a very smart move for the Old Gold.
Moving forward, we feel that this is a deal that Wolves supporters should be over the moon about, especially if Sarabia is able to be a regular and consistent goalscoring figure for Julen Lopetegui’s side.
