Journalist Alex Crook says that Wolves have recently been eyeing up a potential move to sign Bristol City goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.

Wolves have been very busy trying to get deals over the line for a few players, with the signing of Mario Lemina reportedly done, while they are also closing in on moves for both Pablo Sarabia and Joao Gomes.

They have also been linked with deals for Craig Dawson and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and have already brought in Matheus Cunha on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Crook has shared the name of another player that the Molineux outfit seem to be chasing in Bristol City’s Bentley:

“I think they are looking to bring in a keeper. Dan Bentley of Bristol City is a name that has been mentioned to me in the last couple of days.”

TIF thoughts on Bentley to Wolves…

The Old Gold board are clearly ready to back Julen Lopetegui in this window, and the arrival of Bentley could prove to be another very smart one.

They reportedly want to give number one Jose Sa more competition, and current number two Matija Sarkic will be allowed to move on if they can secure themselves a replacement.

Bentley has not actually played for Bristol City since October, but in his 13 Championship games previous, he managed to keep four clean sheets, and still remains the captain of the team, possessing extra leadership qualities that would not go unnoticed at Wolves.

Being English, he would also help fill the Midlands club’s homegrown quota, so this would seem like a shrewd piece of business from the Wanderers.
