West Ham United are keen on signing Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma, who is now available on loan, according to a report.

West Ham’s interest in Danjuma is nothing new, with it being reported by The Athletic in the summer that the Hammers made an approach to sign the forward, with discussions taking place over a five-year deal and a £120k-per-week salary.

However, the same report states that David Moyes was hesitant to go through with the deal, after he was informed about the player’s character during his time with AFC Bournemouth.

Even so, the Irons have continued to be linked with the 25-year-old, along with a whole host of other Premier League clubs.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, the Dutchman has travelled to England for talks with several English clubs, and West Ham are named as one of the interested suitors, alongside the likes of Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

The former Bournemouth man has been made available for loan due to a breakdown in the relationship between him and his teammates, and the onus now appears to be on him to find a new club.

TIF thoughts on Danjuma to West Ham…

The Lagos-born Marksman has undeniable quality, being lauded as ‘incredible’ by writer and podcaster Umirf1, and netting six goals in 11 games in the Champions League last season, a real sign of how far he’s come since struggling in the Premier League with Bournemouth.

However, there are clear controversies off the pitch, considering that Moyes was told about his character during his previous stint in England, and he has now fallen out with his Villarreal teammates.

As such, a loan deal until the end of the season could be a good move, as it gives the West Ham boss the chance to assess things for himself, without committing to a permanent transfer.
