West Ham United have reportedly scouted Lorient striker Terem Moffi ahead of a potential move.

The Nigeria international is enjoying an outstanding season in France, with 11 goals in Ligue 1 so far, only bettered by PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.

His goals have got Lorient up to sixth spot in the table, above the likes of Lille and Lyon, and could earn them a European place come the end of the campaign.

They will certainly not want to lose Moffi, but Football Insider are reporting that a number of clubs in the Premier League watched him when he played against AS Monaco on Wednesday night, getting himself on the scoresheet in a 2-2 draw.

The Hammers are thought to be one of those, and in fact they have been scouting him ‘regularly’, alongside Everton, Aston Villa, Leicester City and AFC Bournemouth.

Newcastle United are also thought to be very interested in his signature, while Southampton have also had a £20m bid rejected by Lorient.

TIF thoughts on Moffi to West Ham…

West Ham’s season is in danger of going truly pear-shaped, with them currently sitting just outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.

They have only managed to score 15 goals in their opening 18 league games, and their attacking summer signings have struggled to hit the ground running, with Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta only managing a mere four goals between them so far.

Hailed as a ‘ridiculously good‘ striker by journalist Zach Lowy, Moffi’s goal record this term speaks for itself, and David Moyes would be hoping that he can hit the ground running straight away if the Irons were able to sign him.
