Tottenham Hotspur could rekindle their interest in signing AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, according to a new report.
Tottenham have been linked with Zaniolo for quite some time, with Tutto Juve reporting that they were interested in signing him in the summer, and a move was still being talked up by the Italian media as recently as November.
With the Italian’s contract with Roma currently set to expire at the end of next season, whether he will choose to stay is in doubt, and bitter rivals Arsenal are also believed to be potential suitors, with the player now said to be thinking about his future.
While the aforementioned report claims that talks broke down between the two clubs in the summer, CalcioMercato claim that Tottenham are continuing to monitor the 23-year-old, amid further interest from Newcastle United.
It is detailed that Fabio Paratici is a keen admirer of the maestro from their time spent working together at Juventus, and Antonio Conte would also be happy to have him in the squad.

Tottenham’s midfield is certainly not the main area that needs improving, given the fantastic form of Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who are ranked by SofaScore as the second and third-best performers in the entire squad.
However, it would still be good for Antonio Conte to have a player of Zaniolo’s quality at his disposal, given his wide array of talents, emerging as a crucial player for Roma in their Europa Conference League triumph last season, scoring five and registering three assists in 10 appearances in the competition.
Given that the playmaker has been hailed as ‘devastating’ by current manager Jose Mourinho, the Roma boss may be unwilling to let the playmaker go, however if he does become available, then he would be a fantastic signing for Conte, providing some depth to Tottenham’s midfield options.
