Tottenham Hotspur are considering a potential transfer swoop for Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Leandro Trossard.

The Belgian joined the south coast club back in the 2019 summer transfer window from KRC Genk in a deal worth £15m.

Since then, the 28-year-old has scored 25 goals and delivered 14 assists in 121 appearances across all competitions, taking his club total to 101 goals throughout his career.

With Brighton having previous transfer experience with Tottenham as they sold Yves Bissouma to the north London club back in the summer, the Lilywhites have their eyes on acquiring another Seagulls figure.

In a recent post from Sky Sports in their live transfer centre, they had this to say on Spurs’ January plans and their interest in Trossard.

They said: “Tottenham are also keen to add an attacking midfielder.

“One name discussed is Brighton’s Leandro Trossard whose contract runs until the summer, although Brighton have an option to renew for an additional 12 months.”

Tottenham Hotspur fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with an easy one: Gareth Bale

This season has seen Trossard prove his worth to Brighton as he has scored more goals (7) in the league than any other player at the club.

In addition to that, the winger also has the highest average of shots per game (2.4) at Brighton as well as the second-highest average of key passes per game (1.4).

Would you take Leandro Trossard at Spurs?

Having also been deployed in numerous attacking and midfield positions this season, Trossard’s versatility also makes him a valuable asset for Brighton as well as his clear attacking talent.

Interestingly, Conte has made clear his desire to sign the attacker, so Spurs fans will be hoping Daniel Levy isn’t messing around.

This all makes it easy to see why Spurs would be interested in signing the player and adding him alongside the likes of Bissouma and Richarlison who also joined the club from another Premier League club last summer.

Previously hailed as ‘amazing’, Trossard would surely be a useful addition to Antonio Conte’s squad given the top-flight experience he has and his ability to be an attacking nuisance for opposition defenders and goalkeepers.
