Nottingham Forest have reportedly made a second bid to sign Santos winger Angelo Gabriel.

The Midlands club have already added two new Brazilians to their ranks in recent weeks in the shape of Danilo and Gustavo Scarpa.

Now though, with a few days left before the January transfer window closes, Forest are aiming to bring in another young talent currently making a name for himself in Brazil.

According to a recent report from Diario De Peixe, the Midlands club have made a second bid, worth €18m (£15m) to sign the winger this month.

The report also adds that Forest’s initial bid of €15m (£13m) had been rejected by the Brazilian club.

At the age of 18, Angelo has scored three goals and delivered nine assists in 101 senior appearances for Santos, which has developed players such as Rodrygo and Gabriel Barbosa.

Another player that emerged through the youth ranks at Santos is Neymar, who Angelo has been likened to by Betinho.

When discussing the teenager, Betinho had this to say about him.

He said: “He is like Neymar in terms of his dribbling at speed and his change of direction.”

His previous league season with Santos saw the winger end the campaign with seven assists in 27 appearances as well as more key passes (34) than any other player at the club.

To further highlight how much of a dangerous attacking player he is, Angelo also racked up more shot-creating actions (84), goal-creating actions (11) and successful dribbles (86) than any of his teammates.

This makes it easy to see why Forest are so keen to land his signature.

Described as a “crazy footballer with crazy potential” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, Angelo certainly has an immense amount of attacking ability in him at such a young age, which makes us feel that this would be an exciting long-term signing for Forest to make if they’re able to seal a deal for him in the coming days.
