Newcastle United have reportedly made an enquiry for a potential transfer move for Zenit St. Petersburg winger Malcom.

After scoring 23 goals and delivering 16 assists in 96 appearances for Bordeaux, the winger earned himself a move to Barcelona back in 2018 in a deal worth £36.5m.

Having only spent a year at the Spanish club, during which he scored four goals and provided two assists in 24 appearances, the 25-year-old joined Zenit in 2019.

Since then, the attacker has found the net 31 times and supplied 22 assists in 98 games across all competitions, taking his career total to 65 goals.

Even though he still has over four years left on his contract at the Russian club, Malcom has found himself linked with a potential move away from Zenit.

According to a recent report from French media outlet Foot Mercato, Newcastle have enquired about making a potential transfer move for the Brazilian, who has recently been offered to Paris Saint-Germain.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

His latest season with Zenit has seen the winger score 15 goals and provide seven assists in 23 appearances across all competitions, which shows how much of a dangerous attacking figure he is.

In addition to that, with 17 league appearances under his belt, the former Barcelona figure has the highest average of shots per game (3.9) at the club as well as the joint-highest for key passes (2.4) and dribbles per game (1.3).

His overall performances have earned the winger an impressive season rating of 7.9/10 from WhoScored, making him the highest-rated player at the club.

Taking all of this into account, it’s easy to see why the Magpies have their eyes on Malcom, who talent scout Jacek Kulig highlighted as being part of a “special” group of Brazilian players born in 1997.

Moving forward, if Zenit are willing to negotiate with Newcastle over a potential deal for their star attacker, this is definitely something that the Tyneside club should look to complete.
