Manchester United are among those ‘following’ Jordan Pickford amid a ‘potential big opportunity’ to sign the Everton goalkeeper, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Pickford’s contract is currently set to expire in the summer of 2024, and while manager Frank Lampard claimed in December that his number 1 is ‘happy‘ at the club, he has been unable to convince him to sign a new deal.

Given the Toffees’ terrible run of form, losing seven of their last eight competitive games, it is not looking promising that the goalkeeper will commit to a new deal, with the likes of Aston Villa, Chelsea and Bayern Munich said to be circling.

Speaking about the former Sunderland man’s future with GIVEMESPORT, Romano provided an update:

“Everton will try to push again for Pickford to sign the contract, but it’s true that all these clubs [Man Utd, Chelsea and Tottenham] are following Pickford.

“It’s a potential big opportunity on the market.”

TIF thoughts on Jordan Pickford to Manchester United…

Hailed as being a ‘real leader’ with ‘world class distribution’, the Englishman has put in some very good performances in a poor Everton team this season, recently looking sharp against Manchester City, making two saves from inside the box to ensure that his side managed to take a point.

Not only that, but the 28-year-old one again impressed with England at the World Cup, keeping three clean sheets in five appearances for the Three Lions, highlighting that he is ready to take the next step in his career.

Romano recently told GIVEMESPORT that Man United are speaking to David de Gea about a contract extension, with this being deemed a ‘real priority’ for the Red Devils, however if the Spaniard does not commit to a new deal, then Pickford would be an excellent replacement.
