Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has seen his side hit a strong run of form in the Premier League since the campaign resumed.
Following their recent 3-0 win over Bournemouth, the Red Devils have won their three previous league games, scoring seven goals and keeping three clean sheets in the process.
One figure that has played a big part in this recent run of form is Marcus Rashford, who has scored a goal in each of United’s three league games and provided an assist.
With 12 goals and four assists to his name across the 23 appearances he’s made for the Manchester club across all competitions, the Englishman has been a pivotal figure for the team.
Now that the January transfer window is open, one figure that has been linked with a move to Old Trafford that would not only add some extra strength and depth to the squad but also give Ten Hag the chance to form a deadly duo alongside Rashford is Joao Felix.
Having made 130 appearances for Atletico Madrid, the 23-year-old has scored 34 goals and supplied 18 assists, with four of those goals and three of those assists coming in the 13 La Liga appearances he’s made this season.
In addition to that, the Portuguese international, who has been praised by Diego Simeone for the “complete” performances he’s delivered in the past, has racked up the highest rate of shots at goal per 90 minutes at Atletico (3.89) as well as the highest rate of goal-creating actions per 90 minutes (0.78).
Would Joao Felix be a good signing for United?
This and the fact that Felix has played across a number of different attacking positions this season, as has Rashford, shows how much of an exciting and useful signing he could be for United this month.
Taking all of this into account, Felix’s attacking talent and the potential partnership he could form with Rashford could be just what Ten Hag and United need to secure them a place in the Champions League for next season.
