Manchester United are ‘not negotiating’ deals for Axel Disasi or Mohammed Kudus despite recent reports, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

The Daily Mail credited the Red Devils with an interest in Disasi and claimed that initial discussions had already taken place with the AS Monaco defender regarding a potential move to Old Trafford.

Kudus, on the other hand, is reportedly being eyed by Erik Ten Hag having managed the midfielder during his time at Ajax, with a £40m valuation put on his head by the Eredivisie outfit.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Romano revealed that United are actually not in fact in talks to sign either of the pair, contrary to recent reports suggesting otherwise.

“At the moment, from what I’m told they’re not negotiating for Mohammed Kudus or Axel Disasi.”

TIF thoughts on United’s targets…

United are currently on a nine-game unbeaten run across all competitions, and whilst reinforcements to strengthen the side further are good, big-money signings aren’t likely to take place in January.

Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are both facing uncertainty over their long-term futures so central defence could be seen as a priority position, though the opportunity to add creativity to the middle of the pitch could never be refused if the price was right.

The Premier League giants are likely to lose some players in the summer whether this be on a contract expiration or transfer basis, so this will give Ten Hag the chance to revamp his squad with new arrivals, potentially Kudus and Disasi.
