talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook believes a Manchester United move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane will be one to watch in 2023.

Kane, labelled as ‘unplayable’ by verified writer Luke Thrower, has once again been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months.

There was speculation following Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit last year that Kane was one of United’s top attacking targets and would fit into Erik ten Hag’s system.

The Red Devils have brought in Wout Weghorst on loan until the end of the season to bolster their centre-forward options, with Kane now into the final 18 months of his Spurs contract.

Talking to GiveMeSport, Crook appeared to tease a potential summer move involving United and Kane, believing it will be one to watch.

“I’d keep an eye on the Harry Kane situation.

“Again, I think that will depend on the ownership model, although, in fairness, the Man United owners did invest quite heavily last summer.

“But Kane will have a year left on his contract and he’s proven in the Premier League. I think he’d want to go to a club where he’s got a chance of winning silverware.

“Arguably, United are in a better place to do that than Tottenham. I’d definitely keep an eye on that one.”

TIF thoughts on possible Kane move…

It seems as if a move for Weghorst is a stop-gap transfer as there is no option to make a loan deal permanent in the summer. Therefore, United officials could once again be on the hunt for a marquee attacking addition at the end of the season.

Finishing in the top four ahead of Spurs may well help United’s chances to sign the England captain, so, as Crook claims, a transfer could be one to monitor as the year goes on, with a January switch seemingly unlikely.
