Manchester United are reportedly keen on securing a new deal for Alejandro Garnacho, who has caught the attention of some big clubs in Europe.

After joining United’s U18 side back in 2020 from Atletico Madrid’s youth ranks, the 18-year-old has gone on to score 25 goals and deliver 16 assists in 71 appearances across the Red Devils’ senior and youth teams.

With the teenager set to enter the final year of his current contract at the end of the season, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding the club’s current stance on Garnacho and his future.

A recent report from The Independent has stated that while the offer that United have already put in front of Garnacho has yet to be signed, the club are still keen to tie down his long-term future at Old Trafford.

In this quiz, we will take a look at who topped the club's scoring charts and when. First, who was United's top scorer this season?

The report also adds that the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid are keeping their eyes on the situation and could make a move for the attacker if he ends up looking to make a move away from the Manchester club.

They have held ‘positive’ talks, despite the player’s representatives stating that an existing offer of £20,000 per week isn’t enough.

This season has seen the Argentinian feature in all six of United’s previous Premier League games prior to their midweek match against Crystal Palace, scoring one goal and delivering two assists in the process.

He’s also shown how useful he can be in other competitions, scoring one goal and providing three assists across the Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

With that in mind, it’s easy to see why the club are keen to see him sign a new deal and why he has found himself on the radar of Juventus and Real.

Moving forward, if United don’t want to risk losing one of their young talents, who has clearly shown he has what it takes to be a useful first-team figure for Erik ten Hag, the club should do all they can to persuade the player and his entourage that staying at Old Trafford would be the best option for him at this stage of his career.
