TalkSport’s Alex Crook has indicated Manchester United may have an interest in Harry Kane labelling it as one to ‘keep an eye on’.

Kane is on the verge of breaking England’s all-time goal scorer record, as he’s currently tied with Wayne Rooney. Furthermore, he’s extremely close to breaking the same record for Tottenham Hotspur which would be two incredible milestones to achieve.

However there’s one aspect of the forward’s career that could haunt him if it doesn’t change, with Kane yet to win a major trophy in his career with many questioning whether he’ll be able to do so if he stays at Spurs.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Crook claims that the ‘proven’ Kane would want to go to a club that has ‘a chance of winning silverware’.

He stated, “I’d keep an eye on the Harry Kane situation,

“Again, I think that will depend on the ownership model, although, in fairness, the Man United owners did invest quite heavily last summer.

“But Kane will have a year left on his contract and he’s proven in the Premier League. I think he’d want to go to a club where he’s got a chance of winning silverware.

“Arguably, United are in a better place to do that than Tottenham. I’d definitely keep an eye on that one.”

TIF’s view on Crook’s comments…

Interestingly, one of Ed Woodward’s biggest regrets during his time at Manchester United was not signing Harry Kane and it’s easy to see why as he’s been dubbed as the best striker in the world.

We believe that a move to Manchester United would depend on when Kane, who has been hailed as a ‘beast’, wants to leave Tottenham.

If it’s this summer then the 29-year-old may not see the Red Devils as the place to win trophies as they’re still in a transition phase, but even winning the Carabao Cup could persuade him that this statement isn’t necessarily true.

There’s no doubt with the goals that Kane has got over the years a number of suitors will be after him. Real Madrid could be a realistic option for him with main man Karim Benzema reaching the latter stages of his career.

Los Blancos boast an enormous trophy room or rooms in their case where they’ve won 16 Champions League and European Cups and 35 Spanish League titles.

Should Kane make the move away from Spurs, any team would be lucky to have such a phenomenal goal scorer in their team and would certainly improve Man United’s attacking options.
