Manchester City have once again shown how much of a deadly attacking side they are in this latest Premier League campaign.

With 20 games played, the Manchester club have found the net 53 times, making them the top scorers in the division.

One player that has been a vital part of seeing the reigning league champions cause so much bother for opposition defenders and goalkeepers is Kevin De Bruyne.

Having also scored three goals in his 19 top-flight appearances this season, the midfielder has provided 12 assists for his side, more than any other player in the league.

Unsurprisingly, De Bruyne also tops the Premier League list for the number of key passes (61), shot-creating actions (112) and goal-creating actions (20) he’s made in this campaign.

Should Pep Guardiola feel the need to add some extra attacking reinforcements to his side, one player that City have been linked with who we feel would be an exciting addition to the club that would also give the manager the chance to form a dangerous duo alongside De Bruyne is Rafael Leao.

During his time with AC Milan, the winger has scored 36 goals and delivered 30 assists in 141 appearances across all competitions.

His efforts in Serie A this season have seen the 23-year-old show why he’d benefit from having a player like De Bruyne setting up goalscoring chances for him.

Would Rafael Leao be a good signing for Manchester City?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Specifically, having had more shots at goal than any other Milan player (58), the winger also has the highest rate of goals per shot on target (0.53) out of anyone at the Italian club that has scored more than one league goal this season.

Hailed as a “phenomenon” by Fabio Cordella, it’s easy to see why Leao reportedly has a rather hefty price tag of £70m put on him.

Moving forward, if City find themselves in the market to sign a new attacking wide player, securing a deal for the Milan star should be at the top of their priority list.
