Liverpool have ‘100% focus’ on signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to reporter Florian Plettenberg, who has also dropped an update on Klopp’s future.

The Reds are thought to be one of the most interested parties in signing Bellingham, named by Sky Sports alongside the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

However, after a poor first half of the season, Jurgen Klopp’s side are ten points off the top four, with securing Champions League football likely to be crucial to win the race for the best players in European football, a category the 19-year-old is certainly in.

Now, Plettenberg has taken to Twitter to provide an update on the future of Klopp, as well as the Reds’ main aims for the January window, saying:

“News #Klopp: Nothing has changed. He is not thinking of resigning & continues to have the full support of the bosses. They concede him a weak season. Been told that after Gakpo no big transfers are planned this month – at this stage. 100 % focus on Bellingham!”

TIF thoughts on Bellingham to Liverpool…

The starlet is undoubtedly an excellent player, being lauded as ‘ridiculously exciting’ by journalist Dan Kilpatrick, however Liverpool must make sure they finish in the top four if they are to stand any chance of signing him.

At the World Cup with England, the youngster was one of his national side’s key performers, weighing in with his first goal and being ranked as the joint-second best player in the squad, with an average match rating of 7.34, very impressive given how young he still is.

The Reds’ midfielders have been fantastic over the past few years, but are now past their best, with Fabinho turning 30 later this year and Jordan Henderson already 32, so they may require a stop-gap option this month before the focus turns to Bellingham.
