Reporter Olivia Buzaglo has been speaking about why Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers are wanting to sign Nicolas Gonzalez.

Rodgers has not been afraid to voice his frustrations and thoughts on Leicester’s transfer business – or lack of it – claiming that he’s not a magician and therefore can’t work miracles without some support.

Leicester are struggling this season with no league wins since returning from the World Cup break, while they currently have a boatload of players out injured including James Maddison and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Therefore, it will be pleasing for Rodgers and Foxes fans alike to see their club finally making a move in the transfer market, amid reports claiming they are interested in Fiorentina’s Argentinian midfielder, Gonzalez.

Buzaglo has identified Gonzalez’s versatility while speaking on Wednesday’s Transfer Talk segment on Sky Sports, as a main reason why Rodgers has identified him as a top target.

She said: “24 years old, still very, very young, he can play a variety of attacking roles basically anywhere across that front three. Obviously, that will appeal to Brendan Rodgers a lot.

Is Rodgers the right man for Leicester?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“He was actually originally named in Argentina’s World Cups quad for Qatar but during theirĀ  training camp he pulled out through injury and he has been suffering from a knee injury this season but still [has] five goals in the 11 games he has played in, which is pretty good.”

TIF Thoughts on the Gonzalez links…

The fact that Gonzalez was originally deemed good enough to be a part of what was set to be a World Cup-winning Argentina side is quite a good place to start when assessing how good of a signing he could be for the Foxes.

Rodgers will just be delighted if he gets any kind of attacking support through the door, because without Maddison, Leicester are certainly toothless having only scored more than one goal in a single league game that he’s not played in this season.

To kick off this quiz on Leicester City's 2019/20 season, who is the only outfield player to have appeared in all 38 of the Foxes' Premier League games in the 2019/20 campaign?

Besides the creative attacker, Leicester’s top scorer is Harvey Barnes with six goals, so bringing in Gonzalez who’s got five in 11 games this season for a struggling Fiorentina side would be a good addition on paper.
