Leeds United are reportedly interested in securing a transfer deal for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Tete.

After scoring 31 goals and providing 15 assists in 108 appearances for Shakhtar, Tete found himself getting loaned out to Olympique Lyon back in March.

During his time in France, the 22-year-old has found the net eight times and delivered 10 assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.

With the end of the current January transfer window in sight, the attacker could find himself on the move again, with two Premier League clubs eyeing him.

According to a recent report from French media outlet L’Equipe, Leeds and an unnamed Brazilian club have their eyes on signing Tete.

However, the report also adds that fellow Premier League side Leicester City have already began negotiations for a potential transfer move for the winger.

This season has seen Tete score six goals and supply three assists in 17 Ligue 1 appearances, showing how much of a capable attacking figure he is.

In addition to that, the Brazilian has racked up the third-highest number of shots at goal (30), shots on target (13), successful dribbles (20) and crosses delivered (45) at the French club.

Taking into account how 10 clubs have scored more goals in the Premier League this season than Leeds (26), it’s easy to see why they would be looking to bring in someone like the 22-year-old to make them more dangerous going forward.

Described as a “hurricane” on the pitch by Shakhtar’s official Twitter account, Tete would certainly bring a significant amount of attacking flair to Jesse Marsch’s side if they were to end up sealing a deal for him.

However, with Leicester’s reported involvement in trying to sign the player, the Yorkshire club may have a challenge on their hands getting him to Elland Road.

Moving forward, we feel that if the Whites do end up signing Tete in the coming days, this would be an exciting way for the club to bring an end to their latest January transfer window.
