Leeds United have reached a ‘total agreement’ to sign Hoffenheim forward Georginio Rutter, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.
Plettenberg has been on the ball when it comes to the Whites and Rutter, stating over the weekend that Elland Road chiefs wanted a transfer this month.
A move has gathered pace relatively quickly since then, with reports hinting that an asking price may have been lowered from £35m to £30m. It doesn’t look as if that is the case, but it does seem as if the Frenchman will be making the move to Yorkshire.
Plettenberg took to Twitter to provide an update on Leeds and Rutter on Wednesday evening.
The Sky Sports journalist said there is now an ‘agreement between the clubs’ and that he’s ‘been told’ a total package will set Andrea Radrizzani back around €40m (£35.4m).
Rutter is expected to sign a contract until 2028.

Rutter may not have bundles of first-team experience, scoring 11 times in 64 appearances for Hoffenheim, but he could well be a star in the making and will provide Jesse Marsch with another centre-forward option.
The 20-year-old can also play out wide or in a deeper central role, so his versatility could come in handy as the season goes on, and we think this is an exciting signing by Radrizzani.
A new marquee forward was needed at Elland Road due to Patrick Bamford’s continued injury problems, and it seems as if Rutter will be that man, so everyone at the club will be hoping he can make an immediate impact.
