Leeds United have ‘upped’ their offer for Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, according to 90min reporter Graeme Bailey.

The Whites have made two signings this month in Max Wober and Georginio Rutter, the latter of which has been confirmed as a club-record transfer.

However, Victor Orta and co may not be finished there, and it seems as if Ounahi is a real target. Phil Hay has claimed that the interest in the Morocco international is ‘active’, and Bailey has shared what he knows about the situation.

In a report for 90min on Monday, he claimed that Leeds have ‘upped’ their offer for the 22-year-old to around €25m (£22.2m). He says that is still short of Angers’ valuation of €30m (£26.6m), although the Whites’ bid is more than Napoli’s, who have offered around €15m (£13.3m).

TIF thoughts on Ounahi…

A move to Napoli appears to be Ounahi’s preference, so if he has no desire to move to Elland Road, it may make sense for Orta and co to look elsewhere.

The clock is ticking and the Whites could do with a new senior midfielder, especially with options now limited after Mateusz Klich left for the MLS earlier in the month.

Therefore, it could be wise for Leeds to set a deadline when it comes to Ounahi, and if a transfer fee and personal terms can’t be reached, for them to move swiftly on to another midfielder on Orta’s shortlist.
