Journalist Fabrizio Romano says that Everton are ‘exploring’ a loan with a buy clause deal to sign Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.

They are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, as they are the joint-lowest scorers in the Premier League with just 15 goals scored in their opening 19 games.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has a history of injury problems, so the Goodison Park outfit will need to find another reliable source for goals from now until the end of the season to give them the best possible chance of staying up.

Taking to Twitter, Romano has shared that the Merseyside club are ‘exploring’ a loan with a buy clause deal to sign Sulemana, who is ‘open’ to leaving Rennes, while both Augsburg and Bournemouth have ‘also asked’ for his signature:

“Excl: Kamaldeen Sulemana is open to leaving Rennes in January. Everton are exploring loan with buy clause deal.

Augsburg and Bournemouth have also asked for Sulemana as he could leave due to lack of game time.”

TIF thoughts on Sulemana to Everton…

It is clear that Frank Lampard’s team need an extra attacking threat, and Sulemana could provide that.

Hailed as ‘amazing‘ by FC Midtjylland skipper Erik Sviatchenko, former Nordsjaelland coach Flemming Pedersen claims that he is ‘even faster‘ than PSG and Brazil superstar Neymar, and could even exceed his potential.

The 20-year-old has even been lauded as ‘technically skilled‘ by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, so has all the attributes to thrive in the Premier League.

However, Sulemana only has one goal and no assists in 13 games in Ligue 1 so far this season, and the Toffees will need a much greater output if he were to move to the top flight.
