Everton are reportedly looking at a potential transfer move for Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard.

After scoring 46 goals and delivering 44 assists in 182 appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach, the 29-year-old joined Dortmund back in the 2019 summer transfer window.

Since then, the Belgian has found the net 18 times and supplied 21 assists in 122 appearances across all competitions, taking his club total to 85 goals and 95 assists.

With the attacker set to enter the final year of his contract at Dortmund once the current season ends, he has found himself on the radar of two big clubs.

According to Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad (via Sport Witness), Everton are interested in signing Hazard this month.

Do you remember who Alex Iwobi was signed from?

The report also adds that PSV Eindhoven, whose technical director, Marcel Brands, left his role as Everton’s director of football back in December 2021, are also interested in signing the winger.

This season has seen the Belgium international make 21 appearances for his current side across all competitions but only start six of them, which makes it easy to see why he has been linked with a move away from the German club.

Would you take Thorgan Hazard at Everton?

To give some insight into what sort of player he is, Marco Rose previously had this to say about Hazard:

“Toto is an excellent footballer who has good technique, who can go one-on-one, who has become more proficient defensively. He is a blessing for the coach. He’s very versatile. He can play at eight, he can play centre-forward, he can play at ten, he can play as a winger or a wing-back.”

Having also been hailed for his “magical” attacking talent in the past by journalist Graeme Bailey, it’s clear that he would be a very useful and exciting addition to Everton’s ranks if they end up signing him before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Moving forward, we feel that the Toffees should do all they can to beat PSV to Hazard’s signature and hope that he can help them avoid getting relegated by the end of the season.
