Everton are reportedly looking at a potential transfer move for Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao.

With 20 Premier League games played, the Goodison Park side find themselves in the relegation zone having picked up just 15 points in total.

After getting rid of Frank Lampard as their manager, the Toffees are now looking likely to appoint Sean Dyche as their new head coach.

As well as having a new manager arrive at the club, Everton have a couple of days left before the January transfer window closes.

With that in mind, the Merseyside club apparently have an idea of what business they want to do before Tuesday’s deadline.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, in addition to wanting to bring in a new attacker, the Toffees also have their eyes on securing a deal for Becao.

Do you remember who Alex Iwobi was signed from?

Having seen Arnaut Danjuma snatched out of their grasp earlier this week, it’s understandable why the club are keen on adding an attacking figure to their squad before deadline day.

In terms of a potential move for Becao, who they have previously been linked with, his efforts in Serie A this season prove why he’d be a potentially crucial signing for the Toffees.

Specifically, with the highest average of tackles per game (2.8) at Udinese this term, the Brazilian’s overall performances have earned him a season rating of 6.88/10 from WhoScored, making him the fifth-highest-rated player at the Italian club.

Taking into account how Everton have faced more shots at their goal (318) than any other side in the Premier League this season, having someone like the 27-year-old in their side would add some much-needed protection at the back.

Described as an “insurmountable” player in the past by journalist Bruno Queiroz, Becao would certainly be a strong signing for Dyche to start his tenure at Goodison Park with, especially if he ends up helping the club avoid relegation by the end of the season.
