Amid reported interest, reporter Olivia Buzaglo believes signing Arnaut Danjuma could be what helps Everton ensure their safety.

Despite spending heavily over the years Everton have failed to bridge the gap between themselves and the traditional big six in the Premier League, and are now relegation contenders.

Not too long ago they may have been dreaming of returning to European nights under the lights at Goodison Park, but now they must focus on getting away from the threat of relegation currently sitting inside the bottom three.

While the Toffees are experiencing well-documented financial troubles, it appears that Farhad Moshiri could soon loosen the purse strings amid interest in the Villarreal attacker Danjuma.

Buzaglo was speaking on Wednesday afternoon about how Danjuma could be the man that fires Everton away from the threat of relegation if they could tempt him to Merseyside.

She said: “You can see his stats over the last couple of years, if you break that down, last season he was absolutely brilliant with 16 goals in 34 appearances, and this season, the six goals in 17 appearances – but that is more than any other Everton attacker.

Should Everton sign Danjuma?

Yes!

No!

No!

“He’s been playing as a forward but can also play on the left as well and I think this genuinely, signing a striker that is Premier League-proven could be the difference between them staying in the Premier League or them going down.”

TIF Thoughts on Everton’s interest in Danjuma…

It appears a bit bizarre that Danjuma has been in red-hot form out in La Liga for a few seasons now registering 26 goal involvements since moving to Villarreal, but now the clubs most interested are said to be relegation candidates Everton and Nottingham Forest.

However, if Everton can somehow structure a deal for him, much like Wolves did with Matheus Cunha, then they could land someone that’s a proven goal scorer and capable of playing across the front line.

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

With Danjuma, Frank Lampard wouldn’t just be getting a proven goalscorer in Europe but he would already know English football and the Premier League given he spent a season in the top flight with Bournemouth.
