MLS insider Tom Bogert has shared some information on Aston Villa’s move for Chicago Fire forward Jhon Duran.

Alex Moreno became Unai Emery’s first signing at Villa Park last week, and it might not take long for one to become two in the Midlands.

The club officially announced on Monday that they have reached an agreement with Chicago Fire for Duran, adding that the 19-year-old just needs to agree on personal terms, pass a medical and obtain a work visa for the transfer to be finalised.

Bogert took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to share what he knows about a £22m (£18m) ‘agreement’ to England for Duran, who he described as a ‘wonderkid’.

The reporter said that a ‘deal is $18m + $4m add-ons, per source’, with the forward involved in 11 goals in 1,363 minutes for Chicago Fire.

TIF thoughts on Duran…

Emery has been pursuing a new A-list forward at Villa Park, and it seems as if Duran will be that man for the 51-year-old.

The Colombia international appears to have a bright future ahead of him, with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United closely monitoring his development before this move to Villa.

Therefore, it appears to be an exciting piece of business by NSWE and Johan Lange, and hopefully Duran can hit the ground running in England, providing plenty of competition to Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins.
