Aston Villa are reportedly interested in securing a transfer move for Chile winger Dario Osorio.
At the age of 19, Osorio has made 27 senior appearances for his current club, Club Universidad de Chile, scoring seven goals in the process, which all came during their previous domestic season.
Despite still being a teenager, the attacker has two of Europe’s biggest clubs eyeing him up for a transfer move.
In a recent Twitter post, journalist Rudy Galetti had this to say about the transfer interest in the winger.
He said: “#ACMilan are preparing the first bid for #Osorio: €6m + 20% of future sale. #AstonVilla are interested in the RW as well and could make a richer offer than [Milan]. U. de Chile already rejected some bids, considered not sufficient.”
In addition to his goals last season, the youngster shown how much of a hard worker he is off the ball as well as being a dangerous attacking figure in possession.
Specifically, in addition to racking up the joint-third-highest number of shots at goal at the Chilean club (37) and the third-highest total of crosses delivered (59), Osorio also made the second-highest number of successful tackles (31).
Do Villa need to sign a new attacking player before the end of the month?
Yes
No
To give further insight into what sort of player he is, talent scout Jacek Kulig described the attacker as a “flamboyant winger” whose strengths include his pace, dribbling, ball control, creativity, first touch and versatility.
Kulig also likened the youngster to Juventus winger Angel Di Maria in terms of who he’s most similar to for his style of play.
Taking all of this into account, it’s clear that Osorio has a lot of talent and the potential to be an exciting long-term figure for Villa.
With all of that in mind, if Unai Emery feels that the winger would be a worthy addition to his ranks, the Midlands club should do all they can to beat Milan to his signature.
